Uying data and getting R4000 bill thereafte

Bought data with loyalty points then recieve a sms saying that I have purchased it. So I download that night and the next day I get a sms saying it is now active. We are not told that we have to wait for sms saying that it has to be activated before using and now I sit with a bill of R4000 which I dont think I should be liable for cause no where does it state that once I buy a data bundle I must wait for activation sms. The night I did it I did recieve a sms saying that I have purchased a 24 hr data bundle and I thought im good to go and then recieve a sms 12 hour later saying that its active. Now ive spoken to abt 7 people from mtn who just pass me from one dept to another. Dont the now what else to do now cause I wasnt informer that I have to wait for sms saying it has to be activated which came 12 hours later. I was caught out by mtn for this and I think they should take responsibility for not informing customers the correct procedure on using this service. Can someone plz help
