On the 20 May 2013 I signed a contract with 8ta. Iphone 5 deal. Big mistake!
Back home after three days my phone was working for the first time however, I could not send ANY sms messages. After contacting 8ta they acknowledge that some of the Iphone5 handsets cannot send sms messages on the 8ta network...??? They advised me to restart my phone every time should I wish to send a message...
They promised to sort it out ASAP.
4 Months down the line, I had no luck, not one agent, manager or technician has contacted me.
I had to drive down to Canal Walk from Plattefloof, 5 times. With no luck. It cost me petrol, parking and the fact that I paid the last 4 months for 50 sms messages per month and received none.
Can anyone please tell me what to do? Do I go to the Ombudsman?
8ta knew there was a problem with the phones and still gave it to me. They never followed up, even after me logging complaints at the 8ta store 5 times.
Every month the full amount is going of my account but I have only half the contract I sign up for. I asked for this specific contract as I need to send lots of sms messages for work.
My advice to any consumer is, to stay away from 8ta and Telkom mobile
