UNACCEPTABLE VODACOM SERVICE

I was due for an upgrade and went to the Vodacom store in the Mayville Centre in Pretoria to effect this on 6 September. I have just arrived in SA that morning as I work abroad and was visiting for two weeks. I selected a Samsung phone and opted to pay R100 more per month on my contract and was assured that the SIM swap would be done in 2 hours' time. However, I had to leave to attend a family wedding and returned to Pretoria and the store on 11 September as the SIM swap hasn't been done properly and the phone was not working at all, rebooting intermittently. The SIM swap was then done in the correct manner, but the phone had to be sent away. I had to buy a sleeve for the micro chip to work in my old hand set, my contact list was a mess and the service was not friendly at all. Going back the day before my return on 17/9 the owner was agitated, telling me that he had done everything according to the book as he had sent the faulty handset away within minutes after me returning it and that he cannot be held responsible for Vodacom HQs slip-ups - offline systems and things not working properly. Bottom line: I am back at my office in Nigeria, WITHOUT A PHONE AND PAYING EXTRA FOR NOTHING
