I recently signed up for the uncapped internet special telkom has for R514incl. But when I got my 1st bill, it amounted to /- R1200. When I applied for the subscription, they consultant would always make me aware of the Pro-rata amount, which I understood. But the thing is the way Telkom calculates its pro-rata amount is ridiculous compared to others/my cellphone account. My line was officially up and running by the 21 August 2013. My billing period as per the statement would run from 21/08-07/09 (Pro-rata) and the full period of 08/09-07/10. So if I look at it logically, I would pay for my first amount subscriptions for a month and a half, if I look at the dates. But when I check the account summary, they charged for 3full months of dsl uncapped internet, which I thought should have only be for a month and a half. The lady at the branch told me they charge you for the full month regardless when it was activate, But I didnt have it for 3months. I asked her show me in the terms and conditions of this, nothing explaining that. Phone call centre, but still waiting. Why do I have to pay for periods I did not use. CONSUMER ABUSE
