Monthly payment jumped from R149.00 to R1622.66!

Telecommunications

I entered into a 2 year contract with MTN, on the 13 February 2012, for a 2 gig goggle at a monthly payment of R149.00. Which i confirmed with the sales consultant was going to be the exact amount monthly.
My June 2013 invoice was for the amount of R1032.07, and when querying this, was told it was for data used.
Then when receiving my July 2013 invoice, it had an additional debit of an amount of R508.78 which was for "Packet switch data calls".
Well my August 2013 invoice is now for the amount of R1622.66 (being an increase of R1473.66 from the original R149.00) the additional debited amount was also for "Packet switch data calls".
So from my initial request of R149.00 per month, it has now jumped to R1622.66, and when speaking to a consultant, I am always informed it was for data used, but according to the invoices its for "Packet switched data calls".
Now you tell me? How can this contract go from using R149.00 per month for 16 months to an amount of R1622.66 in 3 months, and why should i be paying for "Packet switched data calls? MTN please let me know exactly what is going on.
