I have been experiencing an ADSL line with very poor bandwidth quality and constant dropped connections during the last 8 months. When it rains, I loose the connection for hours.
Since the 14th of December 2012, I have lodged the same fault 8 times without a positive result. After each fault report, Telkom notified me that the fault has been restored, which was not the case.
During this time, I have purchased THREE new ADSL modems and also replaced the line filter four times to ensure that the fault is not on my side. I also ensured that the line connections in my home is good.
I have also had extensive technical discussions with MWEB during this time to ensure that the fault is not on their side or on my side.
I have mentioned during my fault complaints that I am working from home, but it seems like there is no urgency from Telkom's side to repair the fault.
I phoned Telkom today and asked them how long will it take to solve the problem - a week or a year? The operator said she cannot say - it may be a year. I am utterly disgusted.
