After booking my handset in for repairs for the 3rd time, this was the response:

Your handset was assessed by a Senior blackberry technician, The technician could not replicate any faults on the handset. Software was updated on the device and the technician advised that you try and not reload the data back up but you can reload the contacts. The issues experienced on the handset are influenced by faulty/3rd party applications... Your handset has been through an extensive quality assessment process where it passed the assessment... We will request for the Vodacare store to test the battery and if faulty advise for them to replace it for you. When a handset is booked in for a repair, the device alone is sent to the advanced repair centre as accessories are not repaired but replaced if their faulty and if their still within warranty. The technician assessed the handset alone and has advised that no faults are on the handset.

I FIND IT QUITE INTERESTING THAT THE 'DEVICE' WAS ASSESSED BUT NOT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM WHICH IS THE BATTERY. DOES THIS MEANS THAT THEY NEVER REALLY CHECKED THE PROBLEM OUT??? THE PROBLEM WAS CLEARLY STATED AND YET WAS NOT LOOKED INTO. INCOMPETENCE IT TELL YOU
