Impossible to change number on Topup contract

Im trying to change a number on one of my contracts to a new number. The contract type is a top up 200.I have been told that i have to wait till contract expires (December 2014), and the lady also went to see if i can change contract to one that allows number changing but then said its not available for the current contract that im on??!
I have had 2 contracts for them for about 8 years now but apparantly that means buggerall nowadays.
I need to get this number changed asap. Why are you making it so difficult? If it is ALLOWED on other contracts surely it must be allowed on all contracts. Dont blame your system on this fact, and no ways im paying the remainder of the contract (R600 x 15mths) to be able to change to a contract that allows this.
I do not want to speak to a call center operator, whose answer is 'the computer says no'.
