Account Closed but still being billed?

Dear Sirs

I signed a contract in September 2012 for a monthly Internet sub and computer deal.

I was asked to bring in my bank statements, proof of salary, and proof of residence. The salesman at the store was very helpful and said he would have the contract completed for me when I came back after the standard credit checks etc.

I went into the shop tto sign off on contract and was reading through the contract and noted that my address was incorrectly filed in, everything else was fine. I corrected it, signed for a monthly debit order and went home.

The internet connection did not work, when I called, I was told that there was no internet in Knysna. I explained that this was a problem, was told that there would be coverage in a few months

No debit order came of my account, I assumed (my mistake) that I was not being billed until there was coverage. 8 Months later I was contacted by legal. I settled the balance outstanding, have still not received any statements or invoice or been contacted until then as the billing address was incorrect (corrected again).
When I contacted MTN today was told that the contact cancelled but I had an amount of R260 /- outstanding again? Why?
