Suspicious "YOU HAVE WON" SMS's

Two days after signing a new contract with Vodacom, on the same number - that had been kept secret to avoid spam sms's - I start getting all kinds of "YOU HAVE WON" this and that... Did the shop where I got the contract sell my number to someone?

VERY VERY SUSPICIOUS!
