On saturday, 17 August 2013 I visited the MTN branch in Canal Walk after I experienced problems with my Blackberry handset. I was assisted by Tembi who informed me that the handset had been blacklisted. It seemed that someone called MTN from a pre-paid number and blacklisted the handset without my knowledge.. Tembi sent an e-mail to JHB. and informed me that she will follow up on the Thuesday and let me know. She contacted me on the Wednesday and informed me that the person did not reply to her e-mail and that I should call the call Centre myself. I did and after I explained my situation to the consulted I was informed that she cannot assist I must speak to pre-paid. I was put on hold for 20 minutews with no response. I called Tembi again and said that my problem is still unresolved. She was busy with a customer and said she will call me back. I have not heard from her since. The service and the lack of effort that goes into resolving the problem is totally unacceptable. I am strongly considering to cancel my contravt with MTN after 13 years and to join another service provider. MTN is not committed to customer service. After this experience I will not recommend MTN to anyone...
