In January 2013 I notified Vodacom in writing to cancel 2 of my 4 contracts. I also requested statements to be sent to me via e-mail since my a/c is paid by debit order and I need to know what I am being billed for. Needless to say no statements and no cancellation. Now in August I finally received my statements and yes the 2 contracts have been debited to my a/c since January. Today when I queried this and after spending nearly the whole day on the phone to them being pushed from customer care to cancellations and back again and the consultants refused to put me through to a manager the response is simple. They will cancel from today when I notified them forgetting that I actually notified them in January. I have sent copies of my cancellation requests but somehow they are just ignored. It is a case of they have the money and the power to dictate how my request will be handled. Do I just have to kiss goodbye to my 8 months of money? Can they debit my a/c even though I requested them to cancel? It seems so.
