Lets double the price?!

Im a prepaid contract user currently with mtn. As thier data rates are pretty affordable... and coverage is better then cell c. But it seems that overnight they have pretty much doubled the cost of data bundles!! No warning..No announcement..and no shame in hiking up th cost by almost 100 percent! Where a few days ago the cost of one gig of prepaid data was 150 rand. Now costs 289 rand! This is more expensive then vodacom who are openly and shamelessly way too expensive..! Why do we all lay down and take this from these corporations? As a paying customer... do I not have the right to be informed about price increase?? Especially when its doubles in cost?
