Vodacom
Promise Not Kept

Today, the 21st of August 2013, I received and sms and email from Vodacom saying I can upgrade now.
I then went to a Vodacom branch at the Standard bank building in Simmonds street, Johannesburg. The lady who assisted me said I can't upgrade as my upgrade is only due on the 2nd of September 2013.
I asked her to seek authorisation from the upgrade department as Vodacom is under obligation to keep whatever expectation/promise they make to a customer.
She called Vodacom and spoke to Abrina who outright refused to understand why I wanted Vodacom to allow the upgrade.
She kept repeating the '2nd of September' date as if I was stupid. She then said there was no one who could authorise the upgrade.
I asked to speak to her manager whom she insisted was busy on another line.
I would think that a company like Vodacom would value it's customers, ensure that it's staff members are adequately trained and would have an option to override a systematic decision to allow for exceptional circumstances in order to KEEP THEIR PROMISES.
THOROUGHLY LET DOWN, I wonder what Mohamed Shameel Aziz Joosub would have to say to this.
