I recently took out a contract with telkom mobile, when i signed up i was told that i would be double debited for the month of august and september at the end of september as new customers dont get debited on the 1st month of the contract.(dumbest thing ive ever heard) I the nreceived an sms on the 21st of august stating that they would debit me the amount of R539.35 for the month of august. i was concerned as my contract is only R289 a month and the most it could of been was around R350 as i watched my data usage and phone calls. the agent confirmed this but went on to tell me that the amount of R240 was added on for the 1 day i opened the contract in July. (july 31st) so they are charging me R240 for opening the phone 1 day before the 1st of the next month!!! R240!!! FOR ONE DAY!!! this was not brought to my attention by the clerk at the store when i signed the contract otherwise i would of never opened the phone until the 1st of the month. not to mention it was the in store clerk who opened it and set it up for me without me even asking for him to do that. the level of service is ridiculous and the call centre agents sound un educated. Consumer act here i come!!!
