Shocking incompetence

Telecommunications

I phoned the Vodacom Shop in Menlyn to inquire about a sim swop and buying a new phone, the Samsung Galaxy X Cover 2. I was quoted a price of R2 599 for the phone. On getting to the shop and buying the phone, I was told at the till that the phone costs R 3699 (or somthing like that). After complaining at the shop, I was offered the phone at a discounted rate of R 3 199. Thank you very much.
After getting home and trying to install the sim card in my new phone, I found that I had been provided with a micro Sim, though the phone's instruction manual clearly states no micro Sim cards should be fitted to the device?! Phoning the shop to double check I immediately get told that the X Cover 2 requires a standard sim card. Yet when I was buying the phone I was told by the consultant that before they can do a sim swop I need to chose a phone so that they can check what sim is required, but they STILL GOT IT WRONG! And the solution they offer? I have to take more time off work, drive back to Menlyn, get another sim swop and wait another 2-4 hours before the sim is activated. I can't even go to another Vodacom shop that might be closer to me as then I'd have to pay the swop fee of R63 again!
