I went to MTN to upgrade my phone / contract. They only had the more expensive option in stock which I decided to take.
They then had to do a sim swop and informed me about the additional cost. I asked whether or not my "old phone" will still be functioning after doing the sim swop and I was told that it will. They did not, however tell me that that I had to pay for this cash, so after signing all the documentation I had to pay the R135. I didn't have any cash on me so I told them I will rather come back later. They then took the SIM card and I left with the new phone. When I got home I realized that my "old phone" was not functional due to the sim swop and the "new phone" had no SIM card. I couldn't make any phone calls... Not even to the service provider. So I went back to the shop. The SIM card that they took is nowhere to be found and I was told that they can't do anything to help until 9:00 the following morning. After much fighting and shouting they gave me a pre-paid SIM card as this was the only thing they could do. I use my phone for business and nobody can get hold of me. I am also not convinced that my phone will be working and I doubt I will get feedback from them
