Reported ADSL fault 3 months ago!

On the 8th of May 2013 I reported a fault with Telkom to do with my ADSL line which has intermittent service. It is meant to be a 2 Mbps line, but seldom reaches 1 Mbps. I heard nothing for 3 months. I finally called and was given an escalation reference number and the assurance that this time someone will be in touch to communicate with me. That was over a week ago, and I have still not heard anything. Ought I to expect more?
