MTN failed to give me access to MY own records

I contacted MTN for copies of my invoices for 2010. I was sent forms to fill in and told that it would take 24 to 48 hours to process and get the records. I filled in the forms and faxed back to the number supplied to me. Before faxing the documents I asked MTN to please supply me with the direct number of the department who processed this request, so I could follow up with them as I needed to submit the forms in 2 weeks time to SARS for a refund. I was told that there was no number for that department and I could not contact them directly. I faxed the documents and waited... a couple of days later I contacted MTN again and was told that the number I had been given could not be a MTN number, hence could I email the scanned documents through and they would get processed. This was a week ago and still no response or documents. My deadline to SARS is upon me and it looks like thanks to MTN I will not be able to claim back over R12, 000 worth of business calls.
I have been a loyal customer with MTN for at least the last 15 years, but I guess this will all change now.
I am sure it is also illegal to withhold client data from the client?
