Slow ADSL line hampering Business

We have an on-going problem of no or partial availability of our internet facility with Afrihost for several weeks now. We are unable to run our factory with international customers without adequate internet facilities. The fault was reported to Afrihost who contacted Telkom (Ref 11ATK100613) and the ADSL line went live but again went down within 2 days and the fault reporting procedure was repeated (Telkom Ref 11ATK180613). Since this fault report, we have not received any communication from Telkom. Out of desperation, we called (for our account) an IT party who managed to get the ADSL line functioning by changing the setting on the router's Coding Gain from Auto to a selected 7 setting. The ADSL came live and we are running albeit at very low SNR values (very slow line speed). We are disappointed that Afrihost support people were not able to recommend this remedy and in-house we have spent many hours to solve this problem.

We still believe that our misery stems from Telkom's telephone exchange and we have recommended to Afrihost that problem focus should be on the electronic card in the exchange handling the ADSL, but to date nothing happened.
