Service cut off after Vodacom accounting errors

At the beginning of July I received notification that my account is in arrears. I immediately checked and confirmed that I had paid R800, even though my balance was only R500. This means I have a positive balance of over R200.
I called 114 to resolve this but was not helped (on hold for ages).
I then sent them an email via their website (reference S3-TV93K-KSNO0). I sent them all my bank statements and proof of payment and was assured last week that the issue was resolved.
Today my service was cut off and I am told my account is still and even more in arrears. Also, after phoning their help line I am told that the issue can only be resolved tomorrow. Why have a helpline that cannot resolve these issues?
Completely unacceptable service from a company I have supported for 15 years.
