I was due for an upgrade with Cell C and visited the branch nearest to me for this. I had received an SMS from Cell C confirming that the upgrade was valid and had confirmed telephonically as well. I was on a Chat 100 contract which I was paying by EFT every month due to the fact that Cell C had the debit order which resulted in debits being returned. When the time came to go ahead with the upgrade I was told that I only qualified for a contract of R150-00 due to the fact that there were debit order returns (Cell C's actions resulted in this) and the fact that I have been listed on ITC!!! (I am currently under debt review and have been for 2 years. My debits have been met on each and every occasion. I will be querying this with the relevant company as well). I was told that I could continue with the existing contract running up a cell phone account into the 1000's or upgrade for a maximum of R150-00!!! I remarried and moved 3 years ago and sent Cell C my new details. Their records still show my details from 3 years ago! I told them to block the existing contract (which is in credit)! Their service is shocking to say the least. I am disgusted.
