I recently moved to Australia, In preparation for my move I cancelled my data contract with Cell C. As the contract had already expired and I was now in the month-to-month phase, I only had to give 20 business days notice. I cancelled my contract at the Cresta branch, the consultant was Lindani, on the 31st of March. I have a copy of the notice of termination, signed by the consultant. Big was my surprise when I checked my South African bank account two weeks ago and found that Cell C had still been deducting funds every month. After a lengthy typical "oh sorry, that's not my department, I'll put you through to someone else" call to customer support, charged at international call rates, I was told that Lindani never cancelled the contract. USELESS! The customer service representative (Vishern) however promised that he would cancel the contract and make sure that the wrongfully deducted amounts are refunded. I just had to send him an e-mail with the proof of cancellation. Now it's 10 days later and I still haven't heard anything back, not even after follow-up e-mails. On Friday, 28 June, money was deducted () from my account again. I'm sick of this.
