Billed for Data not used

Got bill for R486.86 for "DATA CALLS" in May and some again in June.
I am a pensioner and only use my cell phone to verbally talk in cases of emergency.
I have a ADSL land line and use this for E- mails and internet look up etc.all for only R199.00 pm
Why will I then be so stupid to use my cell phone for any DATA use.
The cellphones WiFi and blue tooth settings is never switched on and is used only to phone other telephone numbers.
When I queried this I was told they can not credit my account as I used the Data, and was provided with a list dates and times used (but not for what) Some of these time are long passed my bedtime.
In the meantime I change the package to "TOP UP" so that I can not be charged more than R79.00 PM which is what I mostly paid in the passed.
PLEASE HELP to resolve this matter
