Vodacom
Explanation of contracts

Telecommunications

As a customer of Vodacom for many years I have never had as many problems as I have had in the past few months.
I last upgraded my contract about November/December 2012. I got a Blackberry on my Everyday Offpeak 120. At the time of upgrading we were never explicitly told that there would be an added charge of R44 per month for 24 months. When I went to query this charge I was told that I had signed a contract for it so basically too bad so sad. As a member of the everyday public I know very little about contracts and the like and as such I rely on the consultant to tell me exactly what I will be charged for. After a month my blackberry broke so I had to take it in to get a new one. The same thing happened a few months later and so I decided to get a new phone. My father allowed me to have his upgrade and I got a Samsung S4. A day after I got the phone I was unable to receive any communication on a it. I phoned Vodacom and I was told to reboot the phone. It worked for a few days. Then I had an emergency one night after 10 and realised I had the same problem again and that I hadn't received any communication the whole day. I find both of these situations unacceptable.
