Vodacom
Charged for BIS on Samsung S4

Telecommunications

I had a contract with Vodacom for a blackberry and BIS was included as part of the package. Two months ago I upgraded to the Samsung S4. I just realised that Vodacom has billed me for BIS for the past two months even though I do not use Blackberry anymore.

When I called the call centre I was told that I am responsible for de-activating the BIS Service.

Now this doesnt make sense for me because:

1. BIS was included as a package deal with the blackberry phone, there was no need for me to activate it so why when I change to a completely new contract deal would the BIS be transferred from the old contract? And I was not informed of this when I took up the blackberry contract in the first place.

2. I do not use blackberry anymore so how can charging me for BIS make sense at all?

3. Had I not checked my statement, is it safe for me to assume that Vodacom would have continued to charge me unnecessarily?

Please sort this out as things like this make me feel like Vodacom doesnt care about their clients and it makes it hard for me to trust them as a service provider - it really gives the wrong impression.

Thank you.
