What a pleasant surprise

When I call the Telkom customer (I don't) care centre I prepare myself mentally for the incompetence of their agents. It was such a lovely surprise to speak to someone who knows what they are doing and does not have parrot-like tendencies (you know those clue-less ones who just repeat whatever their trainer told them, whether it makes sense or not). Francois was so efficient and friendly and really helped with my query. It's a pity that part of my query could only be resolved at "accounts" or whatever that circus division is called that Francois now had to transfer me to. And true to their reputation, the clown I spoke to made no sense at all. She just kept repeating the script every time I asked for clarity. And when I asked to speak to someone else who could actually help she had the nerve to put me on hold perpetually! She didn't even say she was putting me on hold, I was just left there speaking to myself. Pity the clown had mumbled her name when she picked up the call. Probably learned that at circus school as a strategy to avoid being identified by disgruntled customers!
