3 months ago we had ADSL installed. We were unable to test line during install as Telkom systems were down but it was immediately apparent the line quality was poor.
It drops every few minutes & despite paying for a 4MB/10MB line the speeds are a little better than dial-up!

I reported it immediately telephonically, & reported it again to the 'customer service' operator who called after the install.

Nobody responded so I called and reported it again.
No response.

I decided to try use the online fault reporting service to avoid the 30min call centre delays and dropped calls (from cell as Telkom line doesn't work) and was given a 'fault reference' of 51CRK300513.

A technician came out and tested the line and told me the line is way too far away from the exchange (over 5.5km) and that the signal was very poor. He said that the exchange would need to be upgraded or a repeater installed closer to our suburb (Northcliff).
He told me they would give feedback.

Shortly after I get a message saying the problem is resolved? No change.

Since reported it again. Fault reference 910CRK070613. 'Fault restored'
And again with 127CRK120613 and now 399CRK180613.

No feedback except sms.
