Non-compliance with Consumer Protection Act again!

Telecommunications

Dear Cell C

On 08/06, you disconnected my SIM. I'm fully aware of the 180 day rule and attempted to use the SIM card a week ago (before the 8th) to prevent this occurrence. As I've come to expect - it identified the network but nothing happened, a problem exacerbated by the poor network coverage in my area.

If you wish to disable my SIM, that's your prerogative. I will simply opt to use MTN, Vodacom or Telkom Mobile. The R 50 prepaid credit remains my property and I must insist on a refund - either instore or through an EFT.

The Consumer Protection Act makes this abundantly clear - see s.63 below.

(2) A prepaid certificate, card, credit, voucher or similar device contemplated in subsection (1) does not expire until the earlier of (a) the date on which its full value has been redeemed in exchange for goods or services or future access to services; or (b) three years after the date on which it was issued...

The R50 is a prepaid credit and has clearly not been 'redeemed' for any goods, services or future services such as a data/SMS bundle. It should be valid until 16/12/2015.

SIM number: 8927076311204048608
MSISDN: 074 801 9162

Please contact me soonest to effect a full refund.
