I used to be a very happy iBurst client in Gauteng. When I moved to Cape Town and they phoned me to renew I did, after confirming that I will be staying in Blouberg. When I received my new wireless modem and installed it I could not get any reception. I phoned Customer Care who informed me that if the light flashes red there was no reception! I tried everywhere in my flat, but no reception. I asked iBurst to please cancel the contract as it is useless for me to pay for a service that I don't have. They said the contract cannot be cancelled, only if I pay around R4700 cancellation fees which was about the same as the whole 24 months contract! After that there were unanswered mails and I even complained on their FaceBook site. After following up again on correspondence today someone eventually decided to reply. Once again I was told that the contract can be cancelled if I pay a cancellation fee of R847.50 (I am on month 19 of 24 and pay R198/month so I "score" a whopping R142.50!). This is no way to do honest business. I feel that iBurst can refund me for all the monthly fees paid so far where I was not able to use them and cancel my contract immediately without charging any cancellation fees!
