Didn't send statement then over charge for fun

Cannot wait until my contract expires, have tolerated their nonsense long enough. They debit me for more than what I owe and when I phone to find out they want me to phone back in seven days bcoz its not reflecting in my account. How do you charge someone something that'snot in their account???
