I purchased a Huawei E5331 router/modem from 8ta Cavendish Square store (Cape Town) on Sat 4th May. I provided my address and was shown I had good coverage (pink) and that this would be 3G with aprox 8-10Mbps speed.

I purchased airtime (R1800 for the 60GB 60GB package) and loaded this on Tue 7 May. The orange weak signal" light popped up on my new E5331 router/modem immediately...
7May: call 1 to customer services: response - wait 24 hours and call us back then if still a problem. Case number provided: 5981083
8May: call 2- still weak signal. response was that technical support will call back in 72 hours.
10May - missed call. no message. I call customer services again. informed they tried to contact you - they will call tomorrow. saturday - no call.
14May: I call customer services (again!) - informed that they're aware of issue. I'm promised a "team leader" will call back in next 30 mins, no call. No call the next day either. Issue reported to Cav Sq store... still no call back.
21 May: Noehaa at Cavendish store escalates. 22May - eventually call from techsupport. Unsure how to help as "my screen is not the same as their support screen". I give up & request refund. Later 8ta!!!
