On Sun 6th Oct I bought LTE Internet from Telkom shop in Fourways, including Huawei B593 modem/router for my house. I connect to this device via Wi-Fi from my laptop, iPad and Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. It is fast and I am getting good signal when the laptop is close to Huawei, but signal strength drops dramatically when I move away. Within 7 meters away from the router the signal is totally dead, while indoors range for this Huawei Wi-Fi router is supposed to be 150 ft.
I sent email to [Email Removed] (as per product leaflet) - no response.
I went to Telkom Fourways shop on Sat 12th October; they did not have a technician and consultant Thabisa suggested that I call 081-180 (option 3-4-4) from the store. They logged a call (REF 6866628); within the promised turnaround time 72 hours nobody called me back.
Then I again called 081-180; option 3-4-4 does not exist anymore; my call was transferred a few times and then dropped.
Must I return this LTE for a refund or is there a hope that somebody from Telkom can sort this out??
