Pensioners should not be taken advantage of!

My mother is a pensioner; she renewed her contract in January of this year through Cell C Direct. After a few days of receiving the unit it was immediately apparent that the battery was not lasting even a day. We called the call centre and requested them to replace the phone as it was within the seven days of "Out of Box" failure period. It took two weeks before they finally collected the phone and returned back to my mother three days after initial collection. We subsequently learned that they did not replace the old unit but merely returned it to my mother; this became apparent after we had to book the phone in again after the screen went blank, this being a new phone and 4 months old. The phone was collected and returned to my mother stating the screen is cracked when it is clearly not and quoted over R500.00 to replace. I would like someone at Cell C to take responsibility and replace the unit with a NEW one; Cell C is definitely in breach of their publicly stated OBF guarantee. Pensioners should not be taken advantage of!
