Fascinating issue this... Got billed for Telkom's mistake...

We upgraded our ADSL Account from a 1mbps to a 4mbps, Telkom decided to upgrade the Line Speed, but not the ISP Account. For two months they billed us, incorrectly. Then the next thing, my R699 a month account is sitting at R1722 - they decided to rectify their mistake and make us pay. When we contacted them, the call center agreed with us, and issued a dispute - asking the accounts department to contact us telephonically. Nope, the dispute was just rejected. So in other words... Telkom are allowed to make mistakes and then bill their "customers" for their inadequacies? Confusing really.

I am in the process of compiling a massive complaint to the Ombudsman regarding this, where I will state all the sections of the Consumer Protection Act that have been violated, and we are currently looking for a new service provider so we can get rid of these thieving people.
