Failure to respond to termination of contract

I joined the Sonstraal Planet Fitness in January 2011 with a 3 year contract. In May 2011 we moved to another neighborhood, so I rarely used my membership. A while later, when I actually tried to go to the gym, this particular branch has closed down, and I had to travel even further if I wanted to go to an alternative branch. In November 2013 I contacted the call centre, and asked them how to go about in terminating my contract. They said that I had to take a letter to the nearest branch and then pay the settlement fee (which at that time was about R 70)
In December on my first day of leave, I went to Soneike to do just this. Getting there, no one knew how to go about in doing this final settlement fee, and they had to wait for head office to e-mail them the settlement amount. After about 3 hours of waiting I asked if they could forward me the e-mail when they get it, and that I will pay the settlement amount via eft. Which I then did later on the same day. Sending confirmation of payment, as well as letter back to the branch. On 1st January however, an amount was deducted from my bank account, and today I also received an sms that my contract will continue on month to mo
