Cancellation GONE BAD

I have just received a call from a lady from the collection side that made me furious.

Apparently I owe them a settlement amount or they can offer me a deal?

After rejecting the deal immediately and trying to explain to her that I have been to cancel my contract (DECEMBER 2011) and signed papers stating that I cancel my Contract and I didn't need to pay in anything, Emailed them not to deduct (JANUARY 2012), they calling me back after 2 months stating they are behind on there complaints, (I was not complaining I just wanted to know why has the debit order not been stopped?) And he told me some one will call me to handle it. I had to stop it on my side and the reception had no answers for me as well??

TODAY they phone me telling me I owe them a settlement amount, which she could not give me and they will be contacting me again with a settlement amount.

WHY AM I BEING CONTACTED FROM THE COLLECTORS FOR SOMETHING I CANCELLED IN 2011?? I don't even have any details of this account any more...
