Pathetic Customer Service and Unethical Billing

Planet Fitness randomly starting billing me again out of the blue and they did so by double debiting me. The consumer protection act specifies that a contract may auto renew, but the customer must be notified 40 - 80 days before the time and presented with options (such as canceling).

I called the branch who told me they couldn't help me and that I must email head office (they said it was not possible to call head office). I emailed head office and never received a response. It seems that customer service is not important but pillaging their customers' accounts is, so they continued to bill me but never got back to me.

My email was sent on the 10th of December 2013. Today on the 9th of Jan 2014, I get a reply telling me that my contract auto renewed and that I must give them 30 days' notice.

I think that this company is the absolutely definition of. Reading other complaints, it's easy to see that they really couldn't be bothered to offer even a hint of customer service.

What a useless, lousy, brand; behaving like criminals to enrich themselves. Clearly, they can't gain customers legitimately so they've resorted to deception and to hang onto their miserable existence
