I joined the Virgin Active Wonderpark gym in February 2013. The reps were standing outside the gym asking people who walked past if they wanted to sign up. Tshepo is the rep who helped me. He promised me that if I signed up, I would get a Virgin Active bag. I signed up, and he did not give me a bag. He said they were out of stock, and would give it to me when they were delivered.

Everytime I met him at the gym he would say he had not forgotten and that they were still waiting for the bags. At some point I realised that there were bags being handed out to people who were signing up. Upon enquiry, I was told that Tshepo did not work there anymore. I spoke to the Marketing Manager, who told me that he did not have authority to give away bags, and that I should contact the Head Office. I was helped by Jillian at the Call Centre and was finally told that I couldn't be given a bag because it was for new members. They said I could only get a free month. I travel a lot with my work. A free month wouldn't benefit me at all. My understanding is that when a rep recruits members, he acts on behalf of Virgin Active. The fact that what he did was wrong has nothing to do with me. Disappointed!!!
