Account handed over to agency when not in arrears

Went in to store to purchase an item with Game card and was informed that I need to see the person at Accounts. This person informed me that my account was handed over to an agency. How is this possible when my account was never in arrears and I never missed a payment? Last 2 payments: March 2013 - R1000 and April 2013 - R2000. She informed me that they will investigate and get back to me. This was more than 10 days ago. Not a peep from Game since then and my account is still blocked. What on earth is the issue? And how will this affect my credit record?
