False available credit shown on slip

My stepdaughter has a Game account, on 27/04/2013 she made a payment on her account and the receipt showed she has R770 credit available. Today, 11/05/2013, she needed to buy some stuff for her new house. She purchased products from Game Midrand to the value of R757, 93 and her card was declined.
After long chats on the phone to customer care, they informed her that she does not have enough credit available, due to interest that was deducted.
So basically they said you can not rely on the slip that you get when you pay as there are other costs that get taken off without your knowledge
That put my step daughter in a very embarrassing position.
This in my opinion is pathetic that game can just take interest without your knowledge.
