I sent an external hard drive that was under warranty for repairs. When I got the unit back I was informed that it had been replaced. The box that it was returned in looked as though it had been used as a rugby ball in a Super Rugby match. While carrying the box to my car the hard drive fell out of its box. When I contacted the store I was told to take it straight back to the supplier. The supplier say that the box was in a perfect condition when it left the store and as such will not be replacing the unit..
CNA Head Office are now saying that I should have refused to take delivery of the product if the box was in such a poor state in terms of the consumer protection act. It's great to say and hide behind the act after things have happened. Especially as I had been waiting over 2 months for the repair.
The store should have taken the unit back to send to their supplier as they would have seen the poor condition the box was that they gave me. This is a case of them passing the back as they know they are the guilty party.
