Don't expect a call or refund from these people

I have lodged a complain on hellopeter were clicks refuse to exchange something for me although they do have the item on there system I received email back stating that they aren't preapared to help as I don't have the proof of Purchase. My question is how am I suppose to have the proof of Purchase if this was a gift I also requested management to call me back but no call was received and it is a week late
