Waiting 3 months for Laptop

I bought a HP Laptop and took out extra cover. The Laptop screen was no longer working and I took it back to the store in December 2012. They told me that if it can't be repaired it will be replace with either the same model or the model which replaced that one. I went to the store 2 weeks ago to find out what is happening, but the guy at the returns department told me he will phone me on Monday (still waiting). I have been waiting more than 3 months to get my laptop back. Just wondering why I have paid all this money for cover if they don't seem to honour their agreement.
