Game
Old product sold as new

Shops, Products, Services

I purchased a Samsung LED tv at the Greenstone Mall. Game had offered their guarantee in terms of price beating. Strangely enough Game sells the product at normal price about R1 000 more. However, the contents of the package seemed strange. Firstly the tv had mild scratches and one deeper scratch. The tv lacked an instruction manual, or warranty card, even though the packaging indicates that one exists inside. The remote control was not sealed in plastic. The batteries were pre fitted in the remote control. Standard shipping requirements would prohibit this from occurring as actively fitted batteries have a tendency for corrosive leakage that could damage the product. The screen offered no protective plastic as per the other television sets I have purchased. All this was topped off by the horrendous power cable joined with a brown cord insulated with copious amounts of insulation tape on either side. I have never come across any electronic device that had a discontinuous power cable. All this has led me to believe that the television set purchased was in fact not brand new. The simple fact is that it is utter rubbish that I would need to drive to the the store and waste my time.
