Return of Goods

On the 30th January 2014 around 12H30 I went to American Swiss (Woodlands) for a refund on an unwanted watch bought as a present. When I arrive at the store Promise told me that she cannot give me a refund I must come with the person who bought the watch to sign for it. The watch was bought in hard cash and it is still in the box and wrapped and I still have the cash invoice. Is there such thing that when returning goods at American Swiss we should come with the person who purchsed it?
