Promises not kept

I decided to buy a dishwasher at Dion Wired only to find out they don't have stock. I asked the sales assistant Donald to check the other stores in Pretoria with no success, Donald said that it will be delivered on Monday. I was disappointed but Donald assured me that it will be delivered Monday afternoon. We phoned Donald at 16:00 on Monday to say we have not received the goods as promised and he said he will find out and phone back. He phoned me to say that it will only be delivered on Tuesday. I was not satisfied and told him to make sure it is delivered as promised. I phoned the store and spoke to the sales manager that told me that such a promise can not be made as the delivery will only take place on Tuesday. If I had this information I would have bought a dishwasher from another retailer that had stock in store. I believe I was mislead to make a purchase while the sales person knew that he will not be able to honor the promise made. This is not acceptable and I would like a refund on the purchase as well as the bank fees charged as part of the payment
