Damaged LCD on TV

Shops, Products, Services

I purchased a HI Sense 50" TV on the 19th December 2013 for R9000.00. I unpacked the TV on the 23 rd Dec. On the 24th I noticed streaks running down the TV. The next morning I put on the Tv and found the picture was getting worse. The stores were closed on this day and had to wait. The next morning I took the TV to be replaced. The sales person looked at the TV and informed me it was faulty and if stock is available Iwill be given a new set. He returns a few minutes later telling me there is stock and it will be exchanged. This is what I was expecting since the TV was damaged.
The manager comes in while this was happening and then informs me that the TV has to be sentin for assessment to the manufacturer. He replied by saying that the TV has a crack on the LCD and I am responsible. I told him that there is no external damage and is in the same condition that I purchased it.
On the 4 January 2014 I receive no feedback and call the store. Manager has not been taking this case seriously. He then sends an sms later that day stating that the damage to the TV is R6 6623.40 & I have to pay.a picture of the damge was taken by manager & insists that I am responsible. please help
