Pick 'n Pay
Small Tins of Sweetcorn

Shops, Products, Services

Shopping at the Greenfields Pick n Pay in East London on Saturday, 14 December 2013, the store had numerous proms running. The one special was Jacobs Coffee which normally costs me R105 was only R59!! I was looking at the tinfood and they had small1/2 size tinned sweetcorn (6005044006258) marked for .40 on the shelves. There were only 8 tins left and many had dents in them which was why I thought they were marked down. When I got to the till the tins went through @R8.48, I queried this and went and took a picture of the price to show the cashier. The manager came to the till and just chuckled and said no, its a mistake and asked me what I wanted to do. I said that I would like it at the marked price. He told me that he could not do that and I can either take the 8 tins at R8.48 or I can put them back. Somebody went to fetch the price from the shelf and he said that the electronic price is not showing the price correctly (as it was faulty or "dying"). Surely as a customer I should be able to trust the price I see? Not happy by the way this was handled and I shouldve left my monthly groceries at the till and left, but really dont think it wouldve made a difference to the store.
