Wants payment for delivery on damaged goods

I bought two leather couches from coricraft's wynberg warehouse on 9th december. I saw these couches, sat on them, and were also asured by Norman (sales person) that there was nothing wrong with them, they we're just dirty. So after paying them the money, they tried to deliver to us this morning. One couch were missing a footpiece, so we refused delivery. The delivery people then started shouting at us that the couch was damaged when we bought it, and that we should pay the delivery money. We phoned wynberg just to be informed that the couch was damaged when ordered. When I pointed out (repeatedly) that I actually inspected and sat on these couches, they finally relented that this was the case, they said they would send the correct couch, but that we would need to pay double the delivery costs (R1000) and they'll refuns us afterwards.
